Cantina during Summer

De Cantina is the small country version of het Rijk van de Keizer. Come over for breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks. Also take-away!

Everything is home made with fresh ingredients from our kitchen garden. Enjoy good coffees or cappuccinos from our espresso bar, or tea with freshly picked mint.

You can also have lunch with a nice drink next to the woodstove or on our sunny terrace. We have a reading table and free internet, there a hammocks and generously filled picnic baskets. You overview the typical Dutch scenery and can see Amsterdam’s last farmer milking his cows.

The summer season is off, so our Cantina is closed for a daily drink and bite. On April 1st we will open our doors again.

Cantina during Winter

In Winter De Cantina can be rented for meetings. Ideal for a small brainstorm, workshop, high tea, lunch or intimate private dinner (seated up to 10, walking 15)

The original Jotul warms this small trailer up and makes it cozy and enjoyable.

Kitchen garden

Since March 2009 we are proud owner of a kitchen- and herb garden. We cultivate fruit and vegetables for our restaurant and De Cantina. We experiment with unknown, indigenous vegetables, herbs and flowers. The harvest is not sufficient to cook for the many guests that visit het Rijk van de Keizer, but local suppliers complement.

Laura de Monchy - artist - is in charge of the gardens. Garden specialist Vicky Stork - contributor of the magazine Seasons - assists and advises her.
